Question

The Indian Government just announced their plan to reduce carbon emissions 20% to 25% from 2005 by 2020. It has also stated it will achieve this by reducing its carbon intensity. Which sectors and technologies are being considered to achieved this target? Is the target enough or is it just a continuation of the current trend of carbon intensity reduction in India?

I think that the strategy is the development of clean technologies and, most importantly, with technology transfer mechanisms because, according to the Prime Minister, "technology transfer to developing countries is a burning issue".

This is a win-win strategy because they get new technologies, more development and they're also reducing their carbon intensity.
