As a research project, the ESG primary goal is to address the formidable challenges associated with enabling analysis of and knowledge development from global Earth System models.

The ESG gives access to daily and monthly mean atmospheric data, time-independent land surface, extreme indices, monthly-mean ocean, from 25 different climate models and for a number of experiments and socioeconomic scenarios (SRESA2, SRESA1B, SRESB1).
